This Cookie Policy explains how MicikSMP uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit miciksmp.uk.
It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files or pieces of information stored on your device by a website or a third-party service.
Cookies can be used to:
* operate and secure a website;
* remember visitor preferences;
* remember privacy and consent choices;
* measure website traffic and performance;
* prevent fraud and malicious activity;
* deliver and measure advertisements.
Similar technologies may include local storage, pixels, scripts, tags and device identifiers. References to “cookies” in this policy also include these similar technologies where appropriate.
2. Who operates this website?
MicikSMP is an independent Minecraft server and community project.
For questions about this Cookie Policy, contact:
Email: miciksmp@gmail.com
3. Does MicikSMP use cookies?
MicikSMP is primarily a static informational website and does not require visitors to create website accounts or log in.
However, cookies or similar technologies may be used by the services that operate, secure, analyse or monetise the website.
The categories of technologies that may be used are described below.
4. Strictly necessary cookies
Strictly necessary cookies support essential website functions such as:
* network security;
* detecting malicious or automated traffic;
* distributing website traffic;
* remembering privacy choices;
* protecting the website against abuse;
* completing security challenges.
These technologies may be provided by MicikSMP’s infrastructure and security provider, Cloudflare.
Cloudflare may set cookies when necessary to manage traffic or confirm that a visitor has passed a security check. Such cookies are not used by MicikSMP to create advertising profiles.
Strictly necessary cookies cannot normally be disabled through our consent controls because the website may not operate or remain secure without them.
You may still configure your browser to block these cookies, but parts of the website may then stop working correctly.
5. Analytics technologies
MicikSMP may use analytics technologies to understand:
* how many people visit the website;
* which pages are viewed;
* the approximate countries or regions visitors come from;
* how visitors reached the website;
* how quickly pages load;
* whether technical errors occur.
MicikSMP may use Cloudflare Web Analytics. This service is designed to provide aggregated website statistics without using cookies to track individual visitors across websites.
If another analytics service that stores or accesses information on a visitor’s device is introduced, it will be placed in the appropriate consent category and will not be activated before consent where consent is legally required.
6. Advertising cookies
MicikSMP may use Google AdSense to display advertisements.
Advertising cookies and similar technologies are used only when advertising has been enabled on the website.
Google and participating advertising technology providers may use cookies, local storage, IP addresses, device information and similar technologies to:
* deliver advertisements;
* select advertisements;
* personalise advertisements where consent has been provided;
* measure advertisement performance;
* limit how often an advertisement is shown;
* detect fraud and invalid traffic;
* maintain and improve advertising services.
The advertising providers involved may vary. The current list of providers and their stated purposes will be available through the consent-management interface when advertising is enabled.
Where legally required, advertising technologies will not be activated until the visitor has made a valid consent choice.
Visitors who reject advertising consent may receive non-personalised or limited advertisements where available, or advertisements may not be displayed.
7. Examples of providers
Cloudflare
Cloudflare provides website delivery, security, traffic management and potentially aggregated analytics.
Depending on the security features triggered during a visit, Cloudflare may place strictly necessary cookies to protect the website and distinguish legitimate visitors from malicious or automated traffic.
More information is available through Cloudflare’s own privacy and cookie documentation.
Google
If Google AdSense is enabled, Google and participating advertising technology providers may use cookies and similar technologies for advertising, measurement, personalisation, fraud prevention and service operation.
Google’s use of data is governed by Google’s own privacy policies, advertising policies and consent requirements.
8. Your cookie choices
When non-essential technologies requiring consent are used, visitors in applicable regions will be shown a consent message.
The available choices may include:
* accepting all available purposes;
* rejecting non-essential purposes;
* managing individual purposes and providers;
* withdrawing or changing a previous decision.
Rejecting non-essential cookies will not prevent access to the main informational content of the website.
9. Withdrawing consent
Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Withdrawing consent will prevent future use of the affected non-essential technologies where technically possible. It does not make processing performed before the withdrawal unlawful.
Previously stored cookies may need to be removed through the consent interface or through your browser settings.
10. Browser controls
Most web browsers allow you to:
* view stored cookies;
* delete individual cookies;
* delete all cookies;
* block cookies from a particular website;
* block third-party cookies;
* block all cookies;
* delete cookies automatically when the browser closes.
The exact controls depend on the browser and device you use.
Blocking all cookies may interfere with security checks, consent preferences or other website functions.
Deleting the cookie that stores your consent choice may cause the consent message to appear again during a later visit.
11. Do Not Track and similar signals
Some browsers provide “Do Not Track”, Global Privacy Control or similar privacy signals.
Where required by applicable law and supported by the technologies used on the website, these signals may be recognised by MicikSMP or its service providers.
Because there is not one universally implemented standard for every privacy signal, the website’s response may depend on the visitor’s location, browser and service provider.
12. Third-party websites
MicikSMP contains links to external platforms such as Discord, Reddit, YouTube and other community websites.
A normal link does not allow MicikSMP to control the cookies placed after you leave miciksmp.uk.
When you open an external website, that website may use its own cookies and process information under its own privacy and cookie policies.
MicikSMP is not responsible for the cookie practices of third-party websites.
13. Embedded content
If MicikSMP later embeds content such as YouTube videos, social-media posts, maps or other third-party widgets, the provider may attempt to store or access information on your device.
Where required, such embedded content will be blocked or replaced with a placeholder until the visitor provides the relevant consent.
Simply linking to an external page is different from embedding that service directly into a MicikSMP page.
14. How long cookies remain stored
Cookies may be:
* session cookies, which normally expire when the browser is closed; or
* persistent cookies, which remain for a defined period or until manually deleted.
The lifetime of a cookie depends on its purpose and the provider that sets it.
Consent choices may be stored for a limited period so that the website does not ask the same question during every page visit. Visitors may change their choices before that period ends.
Information about individual advertising providers and their storage periods will be available through the consent-management interface where applicable.
15. Changes to this Cookie Policy
MicikSMP may update this Cookie Policy when:
* new website features are introduced;
* analytics or advertising services change;
* a new service provider is used;
* cookie practices change;
* legal or regulatory requirements change.
The latest version will be published on this page. The date at the top shows when the policy was most recently updated.
